Be careful to keep flammable items (including Christmas trees) away from sources of fire. This again is obvious, but the more careful you are the safer you and your family will be. Always make sure that matches are completely extinguished by putting them under running water before you throw them in the trash. Also, make sure that your fire alarm is working and does not have a low battery.
