Created by the well known Carte Blanche Greetings, tatty teddy originated from a story of a brown bear, thrown out in the snow with the rubbish. He was so cold his nose turned blue and his fur turned grey. In true happy ending fashion, he was discovered by a young girl who thought he was adorable and saved him from the cold. She took him home to her warm cosy house and asked her grandpa if he would stitch up the little bear's holes. After grandpa stitched him up with patches, he looked as good as new and they all lived happily ever after. Some of the original tatty teddies were sold with a little storybook of this tale and it has remained popular ever since.
