If you are suffering from a bashful bladder, you need to understand where it develops before you can figure out how to get rid of it. Bashful bladder or shy bladder syndrome is more prevalent in men then women. It is usually rooted back to some type of abuse or a traumatic experience during their toilet training days.
Over the years of abuse (it could be sexual, physical or emotional) or bad experiences, you have developed an actual fear of using a public restroom for fear of embarrassment. While the condition itself is considered a phobia, it could also have horrible physical repercussions as well. You can develop serious kidney infections and other complications by consistently holding in your urine for long periods of time.
Since this condition is related to a deep seeded event, it would be very beneficial to seek some type of hypnotherapy to try and not only uncover the incident from where this developed from, but to also be able to confront it and conquer it. There is also a method called neuro-linguistic programming treatment or NLP that has been found to be very helpful in treating this phobia.
Hypnotherapy is ve
ry useful in treating a bashful bladder in that you may reveal things under hypnosis that you may not even be aware of while you are in a normal awake state. Your therapist can address them both while under hypnosis and then gradually make you aware of them during your awake state to help you deal with them and eventually get over them.
NLP is process in which you train your mind to get past what everyone thinks of you. In essence, you are convincing yourself that their opinions don't really matter so that you can go about your business as usual. If the problem initially is that you are worried what they are going to think of you, using NLP can alleviate that and eventually, you will be able to overcome your issues with going to the bathroom in public.
You can see how these two therapies are easily overcome, especially if the initial cause is rooted in the fact that the individual was mocked or teased as a child during the toilet training phase of their life. If you are suffering from a bashful bladder, there is hope. Seek some professional help and you can start to live your life without the fear of using a public restroom.
