The video game FIFA 09 is the latest version of Electronic Arts famous and very popular FIFA Series. These soccer video games were developed by EA Canada and are published by Electronic Arts worldwide. The most recent version, FIFA 09, was first released on October 2nd, 2008 in Australia, October 3rd 2008 in Europe and on October 14th in North America.
There is also a Nokia N-Gage version which was released on November 18th, 2008. This is one of the most comprehensive soccer video games and it has many features, some of which are new or improved.
Before actually buying the game, it is good to try out the demo. There is a demo available for the PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360, so you can try it out on any platform before choosing which one will ultimately be used.
The demos are a good test and basically small versions of the game. The only difference in the demos is that the PS3 takes place in the FIWC Stadium and the Wembley Stadium is the arena for the Xbox 360. This video game is sold around the world and in order to personalize it for each region, EA has different covers for the cases. For example, the German game pictures Kevin Kuranyi, in North America the cover features Guillermo Ochoa and Maurice Edu and in Spain you will see Gonzalo Higuain.
According to statements that have been released by the company,
there have been more than 250 improvements made to the game. Among those improvements to the FIFA 09 soccer game is the improved responsiveness. This lets you make quicker releases of the ball, run faster when the ball is in your possession and there is also a measurement of player strength which will affect the shoulder to shoulder contact between players.
There are animations in this version that were created for players taking their first shots. Other new or improved features include the goalkeeper technology that allows for better positions, reactions and recovery, individual player strengths and power statistics that are based on the player's own body characteristics and overall the collisions that take place during a soccer game.
Another improvement that was made from the FIFA 08 version is the weather. Rain and snow can now be switched on and off before games and that affects whether or not your players will have to wear gloves. Games can also be played during the day, sunset or at night, depending on the stadium you choose. FIFA 09 also includes a "10 vs. 10 Be a Pro" online game. The counterpart offline game "Be a Pro" mode has now been extended to run four seasons long. This game features user controlled player celebrations, like found in UEFA Euro 2008 and the versions for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
